EDITOR'S NOTE: We featured the Willingboro Girls last year and this year they went back to AAU Nationals and got themselves a Bronze Medal in the 4x400.This 4 member Travel Team has 70+ medals between the 4 of them (relay and individual), set a UAGTCA record in the 4X400, were declared National Champions in Orlando (receiving a gold medal) at the Primary Nationals for their 4X400 relay and received recognition (a trophy) for best overall female team in the 8 and under Girls division at the Youth Invitational (Widener University). This is their first year running track.  Their relay team performance alone resulted in 9 golds and 1 silver medal.

A Winning Combination: Willingboro Track Club's 9-10 Girls 4X400 Meter Relay Team. 2014 AAU Junior Olympic Bronze Medalists. On August 2, 2014, the Willingboro Track Club's 9-10 Girls 4X400 Meter Relay team received an AAU Junior Olympic Bronze Medal. (Picture can be provided). Relay team members are: Ananda Daniel, A'Lesia Mendez, Nyjah Smarr and Semaj Strong To qualify for the AAU Junior Olympics, the Willingboro Track Club (WTC) 9-10 Girls 4X400 Meter Relay team won gold for their AAU Regional Qualifier performance beating the Delco Stallions Track Club, a rival team, by almost 14 seconds! The 9-10 Girls AAU Junior Olympic 4X400 Meter Relay Semi-Final performance prompted U.S. Olympian Lamont Smith (a former Willlingboro Track Club Athlete and 4X400 Gold Medalist from the 1996 Olympics) to personally congratulate the team after their race.

Before the 2014 Junior Olympic 4X400 Meter Relay Finals, several relay teams rearranged their line-up in an attempt to defeat the Willingboro Track Club's 9-10 Girls but the 9-10 Girls Relay team prevailed. In a nail biting finish, anchor (Ananda Daniel) came from behind to pass the Delco Stallions and the team secured third place. The total team effort won the bronze medal! What a winning combination! Last Year's 9-10 4X400 Meter Relay also won Bronze at the 2013 AAU Junior Olympics. Amazing talent is coming out of the Willingboro Track Club whose many athletes accumulated several medals over the course of the AAU Junior Olympics in Des Moines, Iowa.

Congratulations to Coach Jeff Scott and Coach Dave Bynoe for their dedication and commitment in developing athletes in the New Jersey and Pennsylavnia area.

Two of the current 9-10 Girls 4X400 Meter Relay team members (Ananda Daniel and Semaj Strong) were featured in a previous 2013 youthrunner.com article for their accomplishments with the Willingboro Track Club's 8 and Under Girls Relay team which received 9 gold medals, 1 silver medal and Championship Gold at the AAU National Primary Championship in 2013. A'lesia Mendez was also a member of the 2013 AAU Junior Olympic Bronze winning 4X400 Meter relay team.
