Billy Landis finished sixth in his 800-meter heat was part of Woodland High School 4x400-meter relay squad which finished fourth at the Buchanan Distance Festival on Friday.
Competing at Buchanan High in Clovis, site of the CIF State Track and Field Meet in June, the Wolves were represented by six athletes Friday in the preseason meet. Woodland kicks off its dual-meet schedule Wednesday against Colfax.
Landis recorded a time of two minutes, :02.0 seconds in the boys 800. He ran the second leg of the relay along with Taylor Brames, John McAnelly and Matt Murphy. Together they posted a time of 3:31.0.
McAnelly and Murphy each had personal bests in the boys 1,600 to finish 9th and 14th respectively. McAnelly's time was 4:34.0, Murphy's 4:39.0.
Pablo Diaz had the second best 3,200-meter time of his career of 10:47.0, good enough for 15th place. And Karen Ramming was ninth in the girls 1,600 in a time of 5:32.0.
