Jenastia Peters and Chris Hudnall  are blessed with athletic talent, capable of winning national championship titles later this month. 16-year-old Jenastia completed her sophomore season at Poplarville High School and racked up impressive statistics.

Nixa Eagles senior Taylor Stephen finished sixth in a pair of events in the USA Track and Field Youth National Outdoor Track and Field Championships June 25-30 in Edwardsville, Ill.

Blaze Murfin placed 7th in the discus in the 15-16 year old division with a throw of 141-05. Kenneth Winters took 3rd behind some very good throwers is both the javelin and the discus in the 11-12 year old division.

Seven Santa Cruz County athletes qualified for USA Track and Field Junior Olympic Championships by hitting high marks at the Region 14 championships at Chabot and Diablo Valley colleges over the weekend.

Danica Person and Miguel De Le Melena led a strong showing from the Evergreen Storm Track Club at the U.S. Track and Field regional Junior Olympics.

It has been a busy summer for Riley Gorham and he hopes to make it an even busier one after a trip to St. Louis this weekend. Gorham, who will be a freshman at Hardin-Central this fall, will be making his way to St. Louis July 11-14 to compete in the Region 9

Seeking berths into the region meet, 50 county individuals and one relay squad combined to earn 78 regional-qualifying, top-eight finishes at the USA Track & Field Georgia Association Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field State Championships June 13-16 in Hoschton. 

ABERDEEN - Competing against some of the best pole vaulters in the Upper Midwest, Reagan Francom of Huron elevated his game on Saturday during the USATF Region 8 Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships in Aberdeen.

The Newburgh Elite Track Club had six individuals and four relay teams place in the top five this weekend at the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics Region 1 championship at Ichan Stadium on Randall's Island. They have qualified for the National Junior Olympics from July 22-28 at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, N.C.

West Brighton’s Zivi Magenheim earned a spot in the USA Track and Field National Junior Olympic Outdoor Track and Field championships in Greensboro, N.C.

Region 12 National Qualifiers 
 
More Region 12 Rockwall-area track and field teams qualified 27 athletes in 35 events to the 47th USATF Junior Olympic National Championships with their performances at the Region 12 championships at Turner Stadium in Humble last week. 
 
Region 8 ABERDEEN, S.D. | William Dougherty of Moville scored 6,239 points while winning the 17-18 age group boys decathlon Sunday at the Region 8 USATF Junior Olympic Trials held at the Clark Swisher Complex on the campus of Northern State University.

Four youngsters affiliated with Mobile track clubs won championships at the USATF Region 6 Junior Olympics and are among the 17 Coastal Alabama athletes who qualified for the 2013 USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships.
 
Lewis, now 12 years old, hasn’t really stopped running for too long since. She’s just one member of the Augusta Flyers Track Club to quality for the AAU Junior Olympic Games for track and field at Eastern Michigan University from July 27-Aug. 3 in Ypsilanti, Mich. Lewis will compete in the 100, 200 and 400 meter dash.
 

Several Evergreen Storm athletes from Camas and Washougal qualified for the USATF Junior Olympic Track and Field National Championships July 22 to 28, at the North Carolina A&T University, in Greensboro. A team record 33 medals led the Storm to third place at the regional championship meet Saturday and Sunday, at Chief Self High School, in Seattle.

 Two years ago, Annika Williams won a national title in the long jump and helped The Wings Track Club capture two silver relay medals at the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics. Williams is headed back to the USATF national meet, this time as an unattached athlete. Competing as an individual, as opposed to part of a club, the Fort Settlement Middle School student qualified in the pentathlon, high jump, long jump and 400-meter run.
 

The road to recovery took an important step toward its destination Saturday for Poly's Ariana Washington at the eighth IAAF World Youth Track and Field Championships. Following a silver medal in the 100-meter final and a quick turnaround to run the 200 qualifying heats, Washington finally had an opportunity to regroup and refocus before her 200 semifinal race in Donetsk, Ukraine.
