There was a lot of exciting track and field at the CIF Meet last week.

Three local athletes competed in the CIF State Track and Field Championships last week in Fresno.

Destiny Parker of Summit High School took eighth place in the shot put with a distance of 43-8 3/4.  This was the second straight year that Parker, a senior, reached the state finals.

Michael Teran, a junior from Jurupa Hills High School, came in 13th place in the 3200 run with a time of 9:05.51.  Last fall, he was a state finalist in cross country, leading the Spartans to the state cross country title.

Jacquelyn Hill of Etiwanda High School finished 12th in the 800 in 2:14.40.  She was the only freshman to make it to the state meet in that event.
