Palos Verdes had a historic day at the 67th Annual Mt. SAC Invitational on Friday, sweeping the 8th, 7th and 6th grade girls championships as well as the 8th grade boys title. Mazzy Genovese earned one of Mt. SAC’s famous winner’s cowbells, blowing away the 8th grade field by more than a minute.
The 6th grade boys tied for first in their race,led by Kevin Rahman, but lost on the tie breaker even though their combined team time was nearly a minute faster than Marine View, the winning team.

Genovese led four Sea Kings in the 8th girls top 10 with Natalie Watson fifth, Roxy Shafiezadeh seventh and Haley Guinan 10th. Skylar McVicar rounded out the record-setting PVIS top five in 23rd. The Sea Kings combined time of 1-hour, 10-minutes. 41.3 seconds was nearly four minutes ahead of second place Hillview and the fastest ever by a PVIS girls team by nearly two minutes.
Wade Nygren was second in the 8th grade boys race, finishing the 2-mile course in 11:47.9, the fastest time ever by a PVIS boy at Mt. SAC. The 8th grade team’s time of 1:00.51.5 broke the school record by nearly three minutes.
Gabi Collatos was second in the 6th grade race.
Mt. SAC is the largest cross country meet in the U.S. with more than 5,000 competitors. Mt. Sac has full results on its website
The Sea Kings return to action at the PVIS Invitational on Oct. 30 on the Palos Verdes High School cross country course and iconic Agony Hill.
