In the middle of the whirlwind, it is hard to take in the breadth of the season.

One minute you are watching Bernard Lagat chase down another record. The next minute he is losing one to another superstar. One week you are watching the best collegians in the country, days later it is a collection of the nation's top high school runners.

But after a season filled with amazing performances by exceptional athletes, it closes fittingly. On Saturday at The Armory will be the final competition of the indoor season, the Armory Youth Championships.

The stars of tomorrow will compete in everything from the sprints and hurdles on the infield to the 3k run on the oval. They high, long and triple jump. Some will pole vault and others will put the shot.

They will be as young as seven or so and as old as 18. It might be the first trip to The Armory for some, but the last for few.

Races begin at 9 am with the mile run.
