The UnitedHealthcare IronKids Alpharetta Triathlon is returning to Alpharetta on September 16, 2012 at Wills Park and the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), in partnership with IronKids, is giving away 20 free entries to this year’s race. Young athletes ages 6 to 15 may register for a free entry at www.awesomealpharetta.com. Lucky winners will be drawn on August 1, 2012.

The IronKids event in Alpharetta has remained the largest youth triathlon in the country for the past three years with over 1,300 athletes competing. The race will include three divisions: Junior- ages 6 to 8, Intermediate- ages 9 to 11 and Senior-ages 12 to 15. All participants will receive a commemorative medal upon crossing the finish line and the top three athletes within each age category will be awarded a placement trophy.

“We are very excited that Alpharetta will be hosting the IronKids Triathlon again this year and that we can offer 20 young athletes free registration,” says Janet Rodgers, President and CEO of the Alpharetta CVB. “We encourage our visitors to plan to make a weekend out of the event and stay at one of Alpharetta’s 23 upscale, yet affordable hotels while also exploring all that our energetic and family-friendly city has to offer.”
