Westwood Track and Field Association is very proud to recognize six local young athletes who participated in the USATF National Junior Olympics Track and Field Championships held at North Carolina A&T, Greensboro, N.C.

Ten-year-old Marcus Cheema, Westwood, placed 23rd in the 800M running 2:37.65 and 9th in the 1500M running 5:05.51. Both events were run within a 2-hour period.

Ten-year-old Alianna Eucker, Township of Washington, placed 7th in the high jump at 1.2M /4' 1.25" and 7th in the turbo javelin throwing 20.83M / 68' 4".

Twelve-year-old Connor Mathis, Westwood, placed 8th in the discus throwing 29.88M / 98' and 4th in the shot put throwing 13.2 M / 43' 3.7".

Eleven-year-old Nikolas Hawkins, Westwood, placed 20th throwing the turbo javelin 32.13M / 105' 5".

Twelve-year-old Andres "Gonzo" Gonzalez, Westwood, placed 14th throwing the turbo javelin 35.21M / 115' 6".

Fourteen-year-old Joseph Jouvanis, Township of Washington, placed 28th throwing the javelin 23.13M / 105' 5".
