The Hurricane is one of the lengthiest footwear franchises in the running industry, because of its consistent fit and performance. The upper continues with an open mesh supported by traditional overlays, which does a better job of securing mobile feet than the minimal welded overlays in more neutral shoes, especially in combination with the stretchy Sauc-Fit insert that flexes with the foot on the medial side.

The midsole maintains its eight millimeter geometry, once considered a bit risky for injury, now proven to be both well adapted as well as stable. The combination of components of various EVA blends each do their part to cushion and support the foot through its gait, and is topped off with Saucony's PowerGrid foam, pampering the foot on touchdown. The outersole is carbon XT 900 in the heel with a softer injection blown rubber, called iBR in the forefoot. All of this allows the Hurricane to emphasize its consistent performance with good stability and comfort.

Testers: “Snug heel and roomy up front, the way I like it. Stable, but with lots of bounce, even after many miles.”
