LINDEN - North Montgomery High School senior Matt Ryker set a school record in the 300-yard intermediate hurdles, won four total events and led the Chargers' boys track team to a Monday night win.

North Montgomery defeated Seeger 68-58, as Ryker set a school record in the 300 hurdles - finishing in 43.74 seconds and breaking Dan Paxton's record of 43.78 seconds set in 2005.

Ryker also won the high jump (5-feet, 4-inches) and ran on the winning 400 relay, along with senior Kyle Walden, junior Ricky Langford and freshman Clay Birdsong and the 1,600 relay with junior Michael Bever, sophomore Jake Thomas and Birdsong.

Walden won two individual events, taking the shot put (39-1) and discus (113-7).

Other North Montgomery winners included: senior Zach Minchin (pole vault), Thomas (400) and Langford (long jump).

Seeger hung on for a 62-60 victory in the girls meet.

Freshman Kaylea Stanley won the 100 and sophomore Madi Smith won the 400. Junior Samantha Copeland won the shot put and junior Cara McCauley took the discus.

North Montgomery senior Marie Long, sophomore Tasha Borta, freshman Alyssa Carey and Smith also won the 1,600 relay.
