Raelynne is not only a great runner but also the president of the National Junior Honor Society.
March 23rd before the National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony I had track practice.
It was an indoor workout and one of the worst plyometric centers I had ever done. When the workout was over, my legs were so heavy it felt like they were going to fall off my body. I went home, got ready and went back to school for the ceremony.Because I am the president of the National Junior Honor Society, I had to give a speech. The podium was high and I'm only 5’1”, so I had to stand on my tip-toes. I instantly felt like my legs were going to fall right out from under me, they were so shaky!
My speech was only about a minute and a half long but it seemed like forever. Half way through I had to walk to the center of the stage and light a candle that represents one of the 6 characteristics of a Junior Honor Society member; character, scholarship, leadership, service, and citizenship. I finished my speech as fast as I could. I was so happy it was over and that I made it through. I sat down and watched the new inductees receive their certificates. If my speech was any longer I would have fell because of my jelly legs!
