Portsmouth's Lovern wins 800 at Hershey state track championship
MANCHESTER - Ben Lovern led a strong contingent of athletes for the Portsmouth Recreation track team at Friday's Hershey Youth Track Championships at Manchester Memorial High School.Lovern won the 800 and placed second in the 200 in the boys 13-14 age group for Portsmouth, which sent seven athletes to the meet.
Loven was one of four athletes who placed in two events.
Tristan Hamilton, in the boys 11-12, placed third in the 800 and fourth in the 100; while Michael O'Neil, in the boys 9-10, was third in the 400 and sixth in the 200.
In the girls 9-10, Kylie Sullivan was second in the 400 and fifth in the 200.
Steve Weeks, in the boys 11-12, was seventh in the broad jump for Portsmouth, while Andrew Weeks, also in the boys 11-12, was sixth in the 800.
In the girls 13-14, Corrie Owens was fifth in the broad jump
