MURRAY CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

Dear Coaches and Athletes,

Murray High School would like to invite you to participate in the upcoming Murray Invitational Cross Country Meet. As we are sure you already know, Murray is one of the oldest and largest invitationals in the state of Utah. For years we have had well over a thousand runners attend, representing 50 different schools from Utah, as well as some from surrounding states. The course will be basically the same as last year (which is a little different from years past), including the popular “snake”. Please be aware that the meet will be on FRIDAY again this year due to all of the positive feedback. A Saturday off! Yeah!!

Schedule of Events: *Times are approximate.

1:30 Packet pick-up*

2:30 Coaches Meeting

3:00 Rookie Girls (Freshmen girls or upper class girls who are first year runners!! Please be honest.)

3:30 Rookie Boys (Freshmen boys or upper class boys who are first year runners!! Please be honest.)*

4:00 JV Girls*

4:30 JV Boys*

5:00 Varsity Girls*

5:30 Varsity Boys*

6:00 Awards Ceremony

Location: Murray Park (5100 South State Street)

Course: 3.1 miles on grass, asphalt, and concrete. Spike are not recommended.

Entry Fee: $45 per Boys team if $$ postmarked by September 6, 2007 (1 fee for 3 races).

$45 per Girls team if $$ postmarked by September 6, 2007 (1 fee for 3 races).

$55 per Boys team if $$ postmarked by Wed., Sept. 12, 2007 (1 fee for all 3).

$55 per Girls team if $$ postmarked by Wed., Sept. 12, 2007 (1 fee for all 3).

$8 per individual not on a team (one race).

**ALL ENTRIES NEED TO BE ON RUNNERCARD

BY THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2007 @ 9:30 AM!!!!

DO NOT PROCRASTINATE THE DAY OF YOUR REGISTRATION!!

LATE ENTRIES: There will be a $5 charge PER ATHLETE for late/day-of-race entries.

ROSTER CHANGE: There will be a $5 charge for EACH roster change made race day.

Registration Procedure:

Register on-line at runnercard.com. If you already have a team account simply click “start registration” and follow the directions on the screen. If you are a new coach or don’t have an account click “create account” and follow the directions given. If you have any problems please call me. I will close down the website on Thursday, Sept. 13, at 9:30 AM so I have time to print the labels & get the numbers ready. Remember, there will be late fees after that time!!!

Awards: Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls

teams. Medals will be awarded to the top 20 finishers in each race. T-

shirts will also be given to the top 10 finishers in each Varsity race.

T-shirts: Awesome T-shirts will be available for purchase at the race.

Concessions: Water and Gatorade will be available for purchase, so remind your runners to bring their $$.
