M.S. Track & Field: Palestine dominates district meet
The full results from last week’s District 20-3A junior high district track meet have been released, a meet in which both the Palestine seventh- and eighth-grade boys’ teams brought home district titles.
The Palestine eighth-grade team brought home six gold medals from the event, including two apiece for Marcus Robinson and Mason Munoz.
Both Robinson and Munoz ran on the gold-medal winning 4-by-400 meters relay team with Chris Weaver and Dakota Mancinas, while Robinson brought home an individual gold in the 200 meters and Munoz one in the 800 meters.
Also bringing gold back to Palestine was D.J. Bernard in the 1,600 meters and Tyler Barnard in the 2,400 meters.

On top of his two golds in the running events, Robinson won two silvers in field events, finishing second in both — the triple jump and the high jump. Zach Holloway brought home a silver for Palestine in the long jump.
In the pole vault, Mancinas finished second, while also running on the silver-winning 4-by-800 meter relay squad for the Wildcats. Also on that relay team were Weaver, Holloway and Fabian Martin.
