Matias Pellegrino of Denville, New Jersey Wins Double Gold Medals at USATF Junior Olympic Championship Meet in Houston, Texas Pellegrino Honored As 2014 All-American in Two Events Turner Stadium, Houston, Texas, July 21 through July 27, 2014– Matias Pellegrino of Denville took first place in the Long Jump 13-14 Year-Old Boys Division with a jump of 6.09 meters. Pellegrino also took first place in the Triple Jump 13-14 Year Old Boys Division with a jump of 12.09 meters. As the Double Gold Medal Winner Matias received the honor of being named as an All American Athlete in both events. Pellegrino is ranked Fifth in the nation in Long Jump and Second in the Nation in Triple Jump by the Elite Youth National Ranking System. Pellegrino’s outstanding performance at the national championship meet capped off an outstanding year of track and field competition. Earlier in the season Matias Pellegrino took first place in the13-14 Year-Old Boys Division Triple Jump at the USATF National Youth Indoor Championship Meet setting a meet record with a jump of 11.28 meters.

 

Nana Agyemang of Parsippany, New Jersey Wins Gold Medal at USATF Junior Olympic Championship Meet in Houston, Texas Agyemang Honored As 2014 All-American Turner Stadium, Houston, Texas, July 21 through July 27, 2014– Nana Agyemang of Parisppany took first place in the Long Jump 11-12 Year-Old Boys Division with a jump of 5.71 meters. As the Gold Medal Winner Nana received the honor of being named as an All American Athlete for 2014. Agyemang also competed in the 100 meter dash preliminary round posting a time of 12.65 and the 200 meter dash advancing to the semi-finals posting a time of 26.02. Agyemang in ranked Number One in the nation in Long Jump by the Elite Youth National Ranking System. Nana’s outstanding performance at the national championship meet capped off an outstanding year of track and field competition. Earlier this month Agyemang took first place in the 11-12 Year-Old Boys Division Long Jump setting a meet record with a jump of 5.64 meters. At that same meet Agyemang placed first in the 100 meter dash and placed first in the 200 meter dash. Morris County Track Club Coach Horacio Pellegrino stated, “It is so exciting to see Nana compete. He’s an athlete with great character and a great attitude. He just keeps getting better every year.” Morris County Track Club Founder and Coach Antonio F. David Workman stated, “Nana successes this year can be summed up by one word ”consistency". Nana was 9 years old (three years ago) when he joined his older brother Kwauku (now a sophomore at Parsippany HS) onto our club; Nana is an excellent teammate and a great role model.
