The Family Care Network to Host the 8th Annual MIRACLE MILES for KIDS 10K Walk/Run
It’s time once again to lace up for the Family Care Network’s 8th annual Miracle Miles for Kids, a 10k walk/run benefiting the foster and high-needs children, youth and families served by the agency. This family-friendly race is 6.2 miles, with the course running along the water’s edge from Morro Rock in Morro Bay to the Cayucos Pier. The race will begin at 8:30am on Saturday, May 7th at Morro Rock in Morro Bay with the post-race party running from 9:00 am to noon at the Cayucos Vet’s Hall parking lot. Last year’s event attracted over 2,400 participants! Between participants, vendors and volunteers, this year the Family Care Network hopes to welcome 3,000 participants on race day!
Miracle Miles for Kids has something for everyone—from serious athletes trying to beat their personal bests to parents looking for something fun the whole family can enjoy. Participants have two different ways that they can participate—either as an individual runner or with a team. Miracle Miles for Kids is a great team building opportunity as well, enabling participants to enjoy the great outdoors with co-workers or club members while directly impacting the lives of those in need living in our community.
All age groups are encouraged to participate and are invited to register prior to the event or in person on race day between 6:00am and 8:00am at Morro Rock in Morro Bay. The online registration fee is $30 until April 7th and includes a free lunch and a goody bag filled with fun items including a commemorative Miracle Miles t-shirt! This year, the Family Care Network will be offering a reduced price of $15 for children under the age of fourteen. Family members making the trip down to Morro Bay for the event are invited to take advantage of free admission to the Miracle Miles for Kids post-race party starting at 9:00am near the Cayucos pier. The party will include live music, lunch, a diverse vendor fair with children’s activities and a lively award ceremony.
