All twenty-seven runners from the Massey Miracle Run Foundation that competed at the USA Region 6 Junior Olympics Track and Field Championships this past week qualified for the national event.
The National Junior Olympics take place July 23-29 in Baltimore, Md.
MMRF's 27 competitors will join 28 athletes from Peak Performance to give northeast Louisiana a large representation at the national meet.
The 12 male athletes include Jimmon Carter Felton, Kendrick Carter, Brandon Hollins, Joshua Hopkins, Jabaria Johnson, Justin Lawrence, Stephan Maxwell, Joshua Newton, Ja'Terrius Smith, Montre' Smith, Tyler Taylor and Cedric Woods.
The 15 female athletes include Trinity Bailey, Chasity Brown, Victoria Brown, Brailyn Carter, Ty'Teynnai Carter, Elizabeth Davis, Cherish Gray, Brianna Harris, Dametria Hogg, Nicolyia Hoff, Kayla Hopkins, Dnadia Meredith, Aleeyah Perkins, Khrystyan Reddic and Myeesha Williams.
To qualify for the national championships, the athletes had to finish in the top five in their events at the regional meet.
The regional meet in Murfreesboro, Tenn., had more than 900 athletes and 47 teams from Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
