Lyndsay Braman of Flushing, representing the M.M. Track Club, competed on Saturday, June 12th at the AAU State Junior Olympic Championships held at Southfield HS. She competed in the 1500-meters (12-13year old division), in which she placed 5th with her best time. This placing qualifed Lyndsay to advance to the AAU Regional Championships to be held at the end of June in Ypsilanti.
The following weekend, June 18th, Lyndsay competed at the USA Track & Field State Junior Olympic Championships held at Livonia HS. Here, Lyndsay placed 2nd overall in the 12-13 yr age group and took 21seconds off her best time, running a 5:33 for the 1500-meters. This qualified Lyndsay to advance to the USATF Regional Championships in July to be held in Cleveland, Ohio. Lyndsay also competed in the 800-meter run in which she also ran her best time by 14seconds, but missed advancing to Regionals by 1 place.
