Loren Brown Sprinter and Hurdler from Naples, Florida

At the FHSAA Championships sophomore Loren Brown from Naples, Florida finished 2nd in the 100m hurdles. In the 300m hurdles she hit the 2nd hurle sending her tumbling but she got up and finished the race with a twisted ankle. Loren is a tough competitor!

Back in March at the Tarpon Invitational Track & Field meet at Charlotte High School Loren competed in the 100m and 200m dashes and set new school records in both races. She shattered the previous 100m time with a mark of 12.83 seconds in the prelim, taking 3rd place overall in that event. Later, running in the 200m finals, Loren cruised through the finish line in a time of 26.83, good enough for 2nd place at the meet and an 11th place ranking in the FHSAA 1A division. Loren used these sprint races to prime her for the upcoming FHSAA Championship Series, at that time she was ranked first in the 100mH and third in 300mH for class 1A. As a freshman she won the "Countywide Athlete of the Year" and maintains a 4.0 gpa at the College Prep School of Community School of Naples.
