Kasen Williams of Skyline High School in Sammamish cleared 6 feet, 11 inches to win the boys high jump on Saturday at the Arcadia (Calif.) Invitational, one of the nation's most prestigious and biggest track and field meets.
Williams, a 6-foot-2 senior, is a future Washington Huskies football receiver who was named Parade Magazine's national high school player of the year.
In the girls invitational mile, sophomore Amy-Eloise Neale of Glacier Peak (Snohomish) edged junior Maddie Meyers of Northwest School (Seattle), winning in 4:48.01. Meyers was second in 4:50.52.
Neale also took third in the girls 3,200 in 10 minutes, 31.01 seconds.
On Friday, Glacier Peak's Jeff Bastian won the open boys 3,200 by nearly four seconds in 9 minutes, 20.97 seconds.
