Today I went for a trail run in the Rockefeller State Park ( a.k.a the Rockies). It was a great run, and we were lucky enough to have good weather. Running in the Rockies, in autumn, with my team is very fun. We have a game were we try to catch leaves as they fall from the trees. Whoever catches the most leaves wins the day. And the Rockies provides many leaves to catch.

Trail runs in my opinion are the best runs. One reason is that they prepare you for cross country. Another reason is the terrain. In trails the terrain varies because it's in the woods. Some people don't like different terrains. But not me. I'll tell you why. You never know what to expect. In a big place like the Rockies there are many different places with many different running surfaces, so you don't know what surface you will run on. That keeps it interesting during the run. Imagine it. You're running on a gravelly road-like surface. Suddenly, your feet start slipping. Now you're on a muddy surface. It keeps going on like that for the whole run. One way, then another. So much fun...
