ING KiDS ROCK Nashville

Adults aren’t the only ones who will be starring in the Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon presented by Nissan. The 10th annual, ING KiDS ROCK Nashville, previously the YMCA Country Music Kids’ Marathon, will show the local community how many youth are excited to achieve health & fitness goals in their own rockin’ race on Friday, April 29!

ING and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series are excited to see kids reach their goals and celebrate their incredible achievement at the 2011 ING KiDS ROCK Nashville! “We’re extremely proud to be a part of an event that is really helping to solve a major crisis facing our country’s children,” said Rhonda Mims, president of the ING Foundation and senior vice president of ING’s Office of Corporate Responsibility and Multicultural Affairs. “Through our charity, ING Run For Something Better, and our partnership with KiDS ROCK, we are expanding ING’s efforts to combat childhood obesity and making a change that we hope lasts a lifetime for these kids.”

With more than 4,700 kids registered, the race sold out more than two months in advance! In ten years the race has seen tremendous growth and has strong support from national sponsors, the Mayor, the local schools and even local celebrities. “Bridgestone Americas is committed to community and improving the lives of children, so we're proud to be an official sponsor of an event geared towards kids’ fitness in Nashville said John Baratta, President, Consumer Replacement Tire, Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC, a subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas Holding, Inc.

Jeff Fisher, previous NFL Coach of the Tennessee Titans, will return for his ninth year as the celebrity spokesperson for the event. “I am excited about the tremendous growth of the kids’ race over the years. This event is a reflection of each kid’s enthusiasm for fitness and their commitment to reach a goal” states Coach, Jeff Fisher. “As a coach it is very rewarding to see children motivated to cross the finish line, and our hope is that they practice these behaviors throughout all aspects of their life.”
