Two Indian Valley youths qualified for the nationals in the Junior Olympics regional track and field meet Sunday at Cedarville University.
Dominic Bell was second in the pole vault (10-0) in the 13-14 age group and placed third in the javelin (98-11).
Tyler Beckley took second in the pole vault in the 15-16 division at 12-6.
The top three in each event advanced. Both Bell and Beckley plan to compete in the nationals July 26-29 at Walnut, Calif.
Four Dover youths also competed in the regional meet. Ashley Crosby and Rachel Grimm both qualified for the nationals.
Crosby, 13, won both the pole vault (8-6) and high jump (4-11). Grimm, 11, was third in the discus (45 feet) and sixth in the shot put (19 feet.
Neither will be able to attend the national meet, however.
Jacob Bennett, 14, placed fourth in the 800 (2:11) and sixth in the 1,500 (5:04), while Ross Grimm, 13, was sixth in the 110 hurdles (18.24) and seventh in the pole vault (8-0).
