Rising sophomore Yakabu Ibrahim of the Southern Connecticut State University men's track and field program will represent Ghana at the 2014 IAAF World Junior Track and Field Championships. Ibrahim will compete in the 110 meter hurdles at the event, with the first round taking place on Tuesday, July 22.

Ibrahim, who now resides in Franklin, N.J., had a stellar rookie season for the Owls this past year. He was a NCAA qualifier, an All-Region and All-New England honoree and was also selected as the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Year. Thanks in part to Ibrahim's efforts, the Owls won the NE-10 indoor and outdoor track and field titles as well as the New England indoor and outdoor track and field crowns.
