Several Hawaii athletes participated in last week's USATF Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships in Wichita, Kan., with a few notching top-10 finishes.

Hannah Sherrill of Le Jardin, competing unattached, finished second in the young women's discus Friday with a toss of 141 feet, 5 inches. She also placed 10th in the shot put Thursday.

Christian Academy junior Michael Chin of Godspeed Track Club placed second in the intermediate boys 800-meter run Saturday with a time of 1:57.57.

Kapolei senior Devin Jenkins, racing unattached, finished seventh in the young men's 100 meters Sunday. He clocked a 10.59.
