Highlander Claire Graves has qualified to run the 35th annual Hershey Track and Field North American final scheduled for August 4 at the Henry Hershey Field on the campus of Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Penn.
Graves will compete in the 1600m run representing Region 2 which includes runners from California, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii. Beattie Middle School eighth grader posted the fastest time in the region for 13- to 14-year-old girls.
Graves has been involved in cross country and track and field for the last five years as a member of the Southern California Roadrunners running club. She was named National Champion for Cross Country Junior Olympics, as well as All American in Track and Field for each of the last four years.
The Hershey Track and Field North American final is sponsored by the Hershey Company and features over 400 of the best young track and field athletes in North America.
