A Big Shout Out to 10 year old Espen Lenhst!

This past weekend Espen ran in the 14 & under AAU Indoor Track National Championship in the boys 11 year old division. Espen took 1st in the 1600 meter running a new AAU national record time of 5:35 and took 1st in the 3000 meter setting another AAU national record of 10:49. Espen also finished 2nd in the 800 meter running 2:37. Up next for Espen is the AAU Outdoor Track Nationals in August where he has a goal of winning the 3000 meter and breaking the 11 year old outdoor national record of 9:55.

Espen Lehnst is 10 years old from East Lansing Michigan. Espen won the USATF Junior Olympics cross country national championship in December of 2014 in the 9-10 year old division running a new national record time of 10:23 for the 3k race. Espen also won the Cross Country coaches national youth championship for the 9-10 year old 3k race in 2014 running 11:07.
