Eighteen National Champions crowned on day one of USATF Youth Outdoor Championships
ROCHESTER, New York -- Day one of the USATF Youth Outdoor Championships saw 18 athletes crowned national champions in the steeplechase, race walk and hammer throw.

In the boys 1500m 9-10 age division, Ahris Mayorga (San Bernardino, California/SoCal Roadrunners) defended his national title winning with a time of 8:21.69.
Boys and girls ages 13-14 completed all five events in the pentathlon and crowned two new champions. The boy’s champion, Colby Miltenberger (Phoenix Bobcats) won three of the five events for a total score of 2,757 points. He beat the second place finisher, Yan Vazquez (Arizona Flames Track Club) by 187 points. On the girl’s side, Ryleigh Marks (Trojan Track) won three of her events to finish with 2,307 points and clench the title.
