BAY CITY - Freeland won four events, scoring 100 points to win the Doyle Invitational for girls track at Bay City John Glenn Monday.
Reese finished second at the meet with 68 points, edging third-place Carrollton, which scored 65 points.
Freeland junior Kaliegh Theriault won the 100-meter dash in her first time competing in the event, winning with a 13.82-second time. The sprinter finished second in the 400, third in the 200 and helped the 400 relay team finish second.
We needed somebody with speed in the 100 and she has natural speed, Freeland coach Joe Rodriguez said. She's a sprinter in our relays and we found her to be a perfect fit.
Carrollton's Shawntoreah Turk won the long jump (15 feet, 10 3/4 inches), the 200 dash (:26.15) and the 400 dash (:59.36). Turk dominated the 400, beating Theriault by nearly six seconds.
