The runners of the CP Classic Running Club of Cedar Park closed their summer on a high note, winning five national championship medals at the AAU Junior Olympic Games track and field national championships last week at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Sophomore Ashley Isham won three medals in the intermediate girls division. She was a silver medalist in the 2,000-meter steeplechase (7:29.77) and grabbed two bronze medals in the 1,500-meter run (4:48.36) and 3,000-meter run (10:31.67).


Jesse Devlyn won a copper medal for finishing sixth in the midget boys 3,000-meter run (10:33.92). Devlyn also was 16th in the 1,500-meter run.

Regan Tindell also won copper by placing seventh in the intermediate girls' 2,000-meter steeplechase (7:54.14).

Also competing at the national championships were Amanda Russell, Hayden Fairbanks, Andrew Stefani, Nikki Keys, Chase Isham, Micah Scott, Susie Kemper, Ellie Arends, Mario Reyes and Kristen Jones.
