Caleb Hymans with his medal from the Fairfax Run for the Children 8K last Saturday. The medal was nice but even better is that he set another world record for 12 year olds running the 8K. His time was 28:58.
This isn't Caleb's first WR though, he now holds the 10k record for 11 and 12-year olds and the 8k record for 12 year olds.
We first met Caleb last year at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Houson after his performance in the 3000 meter run.
Then, at AAU XC Nationals he won the 11-12 boys race and at USATF Cross County Nationals Caleb was third in the 11-12 age group (where three 11 year-olds went 1-2-3 in the 11-12 age group).
During AAU Indoor Nationals Caleb won the 3000m and won the 1500m with his second fastest time ever in 4:48.04 (his only faster time was at AAU outdoor nationals last summer, a 4:42.69).
Looking forward to seeing what Caleb will do this year.
At the start of the 8K.
