Borton earns berth to USATF National Junior Olympic meet

Zach Borton, who will begin his senior year at Clinton-Massie High School this fall, has qualified for the 2012 USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships.

Borton, who was named first team to the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Division II boys track and field team, earned his way to the national Junior Olympic meet by finishing third in the USATF Ohio Association Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships in June at Cedarville University. Borton cleared 14-0.

The USATF national meet will be held at Morgan State University’s Hughes Stadium in Baltimore, Md.

Borton finished seventh in the pole vault at the 2012 Ohio State Track & Field Championships last month.
