Ahmed Bile, a senior at Annandale High School, competed against 39 runners and finished in 12th place at the 2011 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals (FLCCC) in San Diego on Saturday.

Bile's finishing time of 15:30 earned him All-American status for the second year in a row. Edward Cheserek of Newark, N.J., claimed the national title in 14:52. Last month, Bile advanced to the finals with his second place win at regionals in North Carolina.

For the cross country girls, Lake Braddock Secondary School junior Sophie Chase finished 11th with a time of 17:45.

The Foot Locker Cross Country Championships is comprised of four regional 5K races, which took place across the country in the Midwest (Kenosha, Wis.), Northeast (Kings Park, N.Y.), and South (Charlotte, N.C.) on Nov. 26, and the West (Walnut, Calif.) on Dec. 3, culminating in the national finals.
