Bay City Central girls track wins Bangor John Glenn Doyle Invitational with 118 points

BANGOR TWP. — Bay City Central won six events, including the discus, high jump, 100 meter hurdles, 100 meter dash, 800 meter relay and 400 meter relay, as they earned a first place finish at the Doyle Invitational at Bangor John Glenn.
Central finished with 118 points as a team, ahdead of Reese (72), Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart (51), John Glenn (41) and Ogemaw Heights (34).
Central coach Greg Glowicki said the girls ran well, and a few even put in personal bests. He said he was impressed with Sharnae Browder and Achaia Ferrer, who had to rerun the 100 meter hurdles after their first run was not timed properly. Even after having to run the hurdles again, Browder (0:17.63) finished first while Ferrer (0:18.25) finished third.
Other winners for Central were Samantha Prueter in the discus (90’11.00”), Emily Schell in the high jump (4’10.00”) and Sharonda Chaney in the 100 meter dash (0:13.698). Ferrer, Browder, Schell and Chaney won the 800 meter (1:56.11) and Nichole Stevenson, Schell, Aubreon Smith and Sophia Smith (0:55.535) won the 400 meter relay.
Reese’s Drew Findlay won the 300 meter hurdles (0:51.583) and took second in the 100 meter hurdles. Reese also won the 3200 meter relay and the 1600 meter relay. Sarah Spiekerman won the shot put with a throw of 34’04.00”
Pinconning’s Jennier Bargeron won the 400 meter (1:06.331) and 200 meter ( 0:28.592) races while Pinconning took third, followed by Beaverton, Nouvel, Carrollton and Bay City All Saints.
