The Lindbergh girls track and field team came away with a win at the Arnie Young Invitational at Renton Memorial Stadium April 2.

The Eagles scored 77 points to edge second-place Nathan Hale with 68.25. Renton finished eight with 51.5 points. Hazen took 13th with 21 points.

Sophomore Janala Scott finished second in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the triple jump. Junior Sarah Reiter took second in the 800. She finished just 0.11 seconds behind the winner, Northwest’s Maddie Meyers.

Junior Anna Patti took fifth in the 3,200. Senior Lisa Peterson finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles. Teammate Jazzmine Knox finished 0.01 seconds after, for sixth. Knox also took third in the triple jump.

Junior Tianna Banfro took fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. Mercedes Tischer tied for fifth in the high jump.

The Lindbergh boys finished ninth with 28.5 points.

Sophomore Joe Simpson took third in the 300 hurdles. Sophomore Jayde Wiltanen finished fourth in the javelin. Senior Bruce Jones tied for fourth in the high jump.

The Hazen boys team placed eighth with 31 points.

Senior Kyle Martin led the way with an overall win the pole vault. Martin cleared a height of 14 feet, more than a foot higher than any other competitor.

Senior Varuna Bridgers finished fourth in the 300 hurdles. Senior Jordan Bumgarner took third in the discus. Sophomore Spencer Shear placed fifth in the pole vault.

The Hazen girls team tied for 13th with 21 points.

Sophomore Cameron Devereux led the way with a second-place finish in the javelin.

The Renton boys placed fourth with 74 points.

Senior Justin Bennett won the 100 and placed second on the 200. Senior P.J. Benedictus won both the long jump and the triple jump.

Junior Immanuel Carter took second in the 400 and the long jump. Senior Ponciano Ortiz placed third in the javelin.

Renton’s team of Benedictus, Robert Reeves III, Bennett and Carter won the 4 X 100.

The Renton girls team scored 51.5 points and placed eighth.

Senior Amadi Bentley won the 300 hurdles. She also finished fourth in the 200 and second in the 100 hurdles.

Senior Vanessa Tran took third in the discus. Senior Jennifer Hoang took fourth in the discus. Senior Tricia Bui placed fourth in the pole vault.
