Seven Aztecs will travel to Los Angeles for the three-day Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational, which starts Thursday with the heptathlon. Freshman Allison Reaser, who won the pentathlon at the 2011 Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships in a school-record effort and is the reigning Junior Olympics champ in the hep, and sophomore Kiersten Kirkland are each slated to compete in the two-day event.
Action will continue on Friday with Sara Beyers and Missy Bunn competing in the 1,500-meter run, and Alma Escobar running the 5,000.
Three more Aztecs will compete on Saturday (April 9) to conclude the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational, highlighted by sophomore Alex Evans in the triple jump, the final event of meet for SDSU. Evans has placed no lower than sixth in that event in 2010-11, dating back to the beginning of the indoor season.

SDSU is coming off a team win at the Cal/Nevada Championships two weekends ago, the program's first since 2008. Ashley set the pace in that meet by winning both the shot put and discus throws, while setting the school record in the hammer throw.
