USATF Road Mile Championships08/26/12
Run your best mile ever on historic runway 34L at the El Toro Airfield! This is a straight, flat, fast USATF certified and sanctioned 1 mile point-to-point course unique in Southern California! Net total 37’ drop from start to finish! Everyone is welcome to participate in this exciting new event, actually 16 races run on the same day. Prime Time will be providing split-second accurate results with chip timing, and there will be timing clocks at every 1/4 mile interval! Races include road race and race walk competitions, plus six races for youth runners only! USATF participants will include USA National and Olympic race walk team members! $4,000 in prize money is available only for members of USATF Southern California Association in the Elite races, but anyone can win a medal! Gold, Silver and Bronze USATF Association Championship medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in 17 different age-group categories. Special youth awards will be presented by Olympian Lashinda Demus to the top five youth runners in six age group categories. The day closes with the low-pressure Fun Run. In total, 234 awards will be presented on race day! And every runner gets a handsome Road Mile T-shirt. Race Day DVD will be filming all events, making custom DVDs! Check it out!
