About This Event
3rd annual mid summer event. Celebrate summer by participating in either a TRIATHLON: 300 swim, 13 mile bike, 3 mile run. DUATHLON: 2 mile run, 13 mile bike, 2 mile run. KIDS MINI-TRI: 25 yard swim or wade, 3/4 mile bike, 1/4 mile run. Course is flat and fast, perfect for beginners and veterans. Lots of postrace food and quality awards.
SWIM: is in a small man-made lake, water temperature around 65. Wetsuits are recommended but not required. BIKE: Out and back, flat on scenic, paved, country roads with no hills at all. RUN: Out and back also flat on part of the bike course. KIDS RACE: Swim or wade in shallow lake water, along buoy line. Bike and run are on paved bike path in the park. Course is perfect for beginners and veterans.
Top 10 overall in the triathlon both male and female will receive trophies. Top 3 in the duathlon will also receive trophies. Top 3 in 5 year age groups will receive special 2004 neck medals in both the triathlon and duathlon. Also team divisions in male, female and co-ed. All kids in the mini-tri will receive a neck medal for finishing. NOTE: If you don't receive a age group award you will receive a finisher medal.
Tshirts & Extra Garments
All entrants will receive a designer Summer Madness short sleeve shirt. You can also order a an extra short sleeve shirt, tank top or a longsleeve shirt. All garments are 100 percent cotton and are preshrunk. Sizes are small, medium, large and extra large.
From the NORTH take I-5 south to Olympia and go north on Hwy 101. Follow to Hwy 8 and go west towards the ocean beaches. Take the second Elma exit and go left over the freeway. Turn right on Wenzelslough Rd. Park is on the right. From the SOUTH take Exit 88B (Aberdeen) and go west on Hwy 12 going through Rochester, Oakville, Porter and Malone. Upon entering Elma take a left on Hwy 8 west. Take the next exit and go left over the freeway. Turn right on Wenzelslough road.
After the race enjoy lots of postrace food such as turkey, ham and cheese sandwiches. There will also be lots of donuts, cookies, chips and other goodies. Cold Bottled water, soda and gatorade will also be available to drink after the race.
Packet pickup and day of race registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and goes until 9:45 a.m. morning of the race only.
