Sabella savors Hershey trip: It's hard to tell which was more memorable for Lindsay Sabella -her silver medal performance at the Hershey (Pa.) North American Track and Field Games, or the time she spent there with former Olympic gold medalists Carl Lewis, Bruce Jenner and Rafer Johnson.

Sabella, a member of the Westchester Striders Track Club who will be a fifth-grader at Yorktown's Crompond Elementary School, placed second in the Girls 9-10 year-old 100 meter dash.

She won't forget the lessons she learned from the Olympians -and neither will her dad.

"Carl Lewis, Bruce Jenner and Rafer Johnson were a few of the former Olympians who were there to work with the kids," Steve Sabella said. "You would think their participation would be an autograph signing and see you later, but that wasn't the case.

"They spent many hours with the kids over the three days, teaching them the greater lessons sports have to offer. It wasn't about where you finished in the race but how you conducted yourself on and off the track."
