Pacers place four at Omaha

Four members of the Pacer Track Club placed among the top 20 in the nation during the Junior Olympics Track and Field Championships held at Burke Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska.

Kyle Kochka-Puskar took 10th in the mini javelin while Paige Kochka-Puskar finished 18th in the pentathlon and 14th in the high jump with a personal record leap.

Margaux Krahe placed 25th in shot put and 20th in the discus with a personal best throw.

Lexi Stevenson secured seventh in the discus with a career toss. She also placed 13 in the shot put and 22nd in the mini javelin.

The foursome advanced to the national finals by finishing among the top three during the USA Track and Field Region II championships held at Carnegie Mellon University.

While Krahe finished first in the shot put and discus, Stevenson duplicated the showing in her age group as well as taking the silver in the mini javelin.

Kyle Kochka-Puskar picked up first in the javelin and ninth in the discus.

Paige Kochka-Puskar was first in the high jump and second in the pentathlon.

Other top finishers for the Pacers at the Region II event included:

Nick Chametzky, fifth in javelin, seventh in shot put and discus.

Chloe Flaminio, seventh in shot put, 10th in discus and first place in javelin.

Shaun Hay, fourth in the 1500-meter run.

Logan Kochka-Puskar, sixth in the 3000-meter run.

Kristen Kohler, seventh in discus.

Cameron Maxwell, sixth in the 1500-meter run.

Jake McCloskey, eleventh place in discus.

Kal McCloskey, third place in discus, sixth place in shot put and seventh place in javelin;

Marcus McGinnis, eighth in the 3000-meter run.

Connan Rooney, seventh in the 800-meter run.

Emma Stark, seventh in the 400-meter dash and 800-and 3000.

Jimmy Stevenson, fourth place in discus.

Emily Swogger, sixth place in triple jump;

Elaina Walnoha, ninth in the 1500 run and eighth in the 3000.

Matthew Wertz seventh in the 800 run and fourth in the 1500 and 3000 races.

The Pacer Track Club offers cross country and track events for students from Bethel Park, Mt. Lebanon, Upper St. Clair and Peters Township.
