Miami Gardens Express

The Miami Gardens Express Track Club scored big this year at the AAU JO's.... 24 kids made the trip and out of the 24 kids 16 medals were brought home to Miami Florida!! Shiree Hinds 11yrs old started it off with a gold medal in the 3000 meters

sub-midget division, then came two time defending nation and junior Olympic champion Dawun Hylton 10yrs old (bantam) division with a gold in the 400 meters and 800 meters and just missing the 400 meter record by .5, he ran 59.53 and the record was 59.48, but set a national and junior Olympic record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:20.21. The Express also got gold & silver from Yohance Haynes (gold) 11yrs old (sub-midget) and Jeremiah Dinson (silver) 11yrs old in the 800 meters. Justin Brown 9yrs old (sub-bantam) and defending nation champion in the 200 meters got gold for the second time. He also placed 2nd in the 100 meters. Jamir Ferguson 8yrs old brought home a 2nd place finish in the (primary) division. The 4x800 relay brought home gold in the midget division, Jeremiah Dinson, Leon brown, Cordell lamb and Yohance Haynes.

Defending 4x400 bantam boys won gold again for the 2nd time in two years and broke the national, junior Olympics and world record with a time of 4:07.49, Ryan Champlin, Camrin Lamb, Marquise Decious and Dawun Hylton. Those same boys without Dawun Hylton and Jamal Walton took 3rd place in the 4x100 bantam boys division. They also brought home 2 sets of relays gold's, 5 individuals gold medals, 4 silvers, 1- 3rd place medal and 8 top eight medals and one relay 3rd place medals.
