Peak Performance finishes with great showing at Junior Olympics

The Peak Performance Track Club finished the season with a great showing at the U.S. National Junior Olympics Track & Field Championships in Omaha, Neb., this weekend. The team had three athletes earn medals at the prestigious meet.

Breonna Gibson was second place in the shot put in the bantam girls division (9-10 yr. olds) with a personal best of 26 feet, 8 1/2 inches.

Joshua Cox was third place in the javelin in the intermediate boys division (15-16 yr. olds) with a throw of 171-10.

Jennifer Goss was eighth place in the javelin in the young women’s division (17-18 yr. olds) with a throw of 118-9. (The first eight places earn medals at the national championships.)

Jennifer Goss also competed in three other events, earning 16th place in hammer throw; 22nd place in discus; and 29th place in shot put.

Placing 12th in the 1500-meter race walk in the bantam girls division was Aubrey Gamble.

Note: The USA National Junior Olympics Track & Field Championships is the largest gathering of athletes for one sport in the world with 6000 athletes in attendance.
