Greer twins take gold, silver in regional Junior Olympic Championship

Clinton’s Michael and Stephen Greer are headed to the National Junior Olympic Championship July 26 in Omaha.

They earned the right Friday by overwhelming their competition at the U.S. Track and Field Association Region 6 Junior Olympic Championship.

Competing against athletes from Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi, Stephen Greer took the gold medal with a vault of 14 feet.

Twin Michael Greer nabbed the silver medal with a jump of 12 feet, 6 inches.
