Mission Prep senior-to-be Jordan Hasay finished fourth Sunday in the women's 1,500-meter run at the World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Hasay finished the race in 4 minutes, 19.02 seconds to finish less than four seconds behind the first-place finisher at the meet for athletes 19 and younger. This was the second consecutive summer Hasay finished in the top four in a world championship meet. In 2007, Hasay finished second in the 1,500-meter run at the World Youth Championships in the Czech Republic.

It's been a busy past couple of months for Hasay. First, she became only the second runner to win three consecutive CIF state championships in the girls 3,200-meter run. Then, she successfully defended her 1,500-meter championship at the U.S. Junior National Championships to qualify for the World Junior Championships. She followed that by competing in the 1,500-meter run at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. In Eugene, Hasay advanced to the final where she finished 10th. Along the way, she set a U.S. high school record of 4:14.50 in the semifinals.

Great Britain had two runners in the top three of Sunday's women's 1,500 meters as Stephanie Twell won the race in 4:15.09, and Emma Pallant was third in 4:17.06. Ethiopia's Kalkidan Gezahegne was second in 4:16.58.
