Many of you are competing at regionals and nationals this month and we would like to hear your story and let the Youth Runner World know about your success. It's easy.....here is how you do it:
First....just email your story and photos to: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it When we get it we'll reply back with any questions so please give us your contact info so it's easy for us to get back to you. If we can't contact you the story will not run.
Photo Specs: For Youthrunner.com low resolution files are fine down to 72dpi. For a chance to be published in Youth Runner Magazine the photos-images need to be higher quality, we ask for "Hi-Resolution" at 300 dpi. If you compress or downsize you usually reduce the dpi. Always good to send a few low-res first for us to choose from and then we'll ask for the better quality.
How do we select the story we'll use? The way we look at it is if you make the effort to write a story and send it in to us we're going to make every effort to publish it. Space is limited in the actual magazine so it's easier to get your story on Youthrunner.com.
Tips: Provide clear information, good contact info, good photos...make it easy for us and better chance to get published fast.
What about statistical errors? Well, we just ran into this recently where a story was provided, we didn't completely check the records and someone called us on it. So please send us a screen shot or a link to a results page or a records page to confirm it. We do not always have the time to spend running down your stats and in most cases if it's an athlete focus or special interest story we may just believe that what you are telling us is right.
What happens if you find an error? Then please email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or hit contact from youthrunner.com. We'd appreciate it if you left your email address so we can reply and thank you for keeping an eye on what we're doing.
What kind of stories are we looking for? If it has to do with track and field athletes, success, failure, overcoming, records, team spirit, how you did it, how you overcame it, why you compete and why you love track and field. All ideas are good if they tell a story, teach, and uplift your fellow athlete.
Coaching and training: If you're a coach or an expert and want to contribute please drop us an email with your ideas.
