Alex Jodidio

Alex Jodidio is a new member to the US Junior team this year. He is a U.S. citizen but because of his father's work is already living in Switzerland. He's done a lot of cross-country and track, and his family discovered Switzerland Alex started to run in the mountains. "Every year in my region, there was this famous race Sierre-Zinal 31km ... the best moutain runners ran this race, The Mexican Ricardo Mejia ,and the record holder Jonathan Wyatt( 5 times World champion ) . Then in 2000 they decided to organize a smaller race from Chandolin to Zinal 19 km and my dream is to win this race , i still have some years for the Juniors races, the record is still 1h28min17s by Lucien Epiney,and actually i should run in 1h34-1h35 . "

Alex is now doing the Swiss system for school with two more years to go and then he'd like to go to a landscaping school. Favorite foods.......Japanese, Chinese , and Swiss specialites like: Raclette ,fondue au Fromage and viande séchée .

"I used to do a lot of Football and one day i did a race organized by my school, it was a 2 km race around the Eiffel Tour and I won, so my sport teacher adivised me to be part of an Athletics Club. My best memory was in 2002 and 2003. Because in 2002 ,the race was stopped in Chandolin, too much snow so we couldn't go to Zinal ,everybody started from Sierre i didn't now this part , it was very steep, i did 7th place in Junior men's (very hard because the oldest were 19 years old ,and I was 12. ) Then one year later from Chandolin to Zinal I came in 4th place. This was my best place ever in this race , hope to do in the top 3 this year."
