This year, the California native focused on the 1500 meters and the mile, and at the USA Outdoor Championships in Indianapolis this past June, she finished fifth in the 1500 meters with a personal record of 4:08.99. Before leaving for the European racing season, she ran her first 10K road race at Peachtree on July 4th and placed fourth in 32:57. The Stanford grad ended her racing year with a strong third place finish at the Continental Airlines Fifth Avenue Mile in 4:25, another PR. In 2006, Hall won her first USA title at the CVS/pharmacy Downtown 5K in 15:40 and was also national runner-up at the USA 3000m Indoor Championship. She also represented the USA at the 4K World Cross Country Championship in Japan (where she finished 26th) and produced personal records at 1500 meters (4:15.97), the mile – road (4:28) and track (4:35.02), 3000 meters (8:56.93) and 5000 meters (15:20.88). Sara closed her year with a victory at the Continental Airlines Fifth Avenue Mile in New York City. HIGH SCHOOL As a Montgomery High School student from Santa Rosa, Hall – her maiden name is Bei - became the first Californian ever to win four state cross country titles and she also earned three state track titles at 1600 and 3200 meters (2). In 2000, she was the Foot Locker National Cross Country Championships champion. COLLEGE At Stanford University, she was a three-time NCAA runner-up (track) and 7-time All-American. In 2003, with her third place finish, Sara led Stanford to the NCAA Cross Country Championships team title. PERSONAL Sara is very involved in her church and also has done activities such as homeless outreaches in Palo Alto. She speaks Spanish and tutors ESL children and does missionary work in Latin America – which she also plans to do after her running career. At Stanford, Sara was a human biology major with a focus in exercise physiology.
